A NASA-area native who grew up in Houston and now raises his family in Humble, Charles graduated from Nicholls State University on a Division I football scholarship with a Bachelor's in Business and a concentration in Professional Sales. He founded McDade in June 2020 with a simple framework. Clarity. Probability. Severity. Value. Apply it to every policy. Tell clients the truth, even when the truth is "keep what you have." About 40% of the time, that is exactly what he tells them.
In 2025, Liberty Mutual and Safeco named Charles their Emerging Leaders Agent of the Future. Travelers awarded the agency S.T.A.R. status the same year. In 2024, Charles became the first African American board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Houston in the organization's 101-year history. He speaks at ITC Vegas 2026, has spoken at the NAAIA National Conference, and at Insurance Soup Live to more than 55,000 agents.
Charles is married to Dr. Allison McDade, a child and adolescent psychiatrist. They have two children, Aaliyah, age 11, and Charlie, age 5. Off the clock, Charles is a hunter, a fantasy football strategist, and a Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast.
